Rockport & Gloucester
The final image (above). Straight outta the camera (below).
Sister telling me, "No, THIS is how you attach the lens."
Getting the shot.
She can't believe I let her use the 70-200.
"Damn those rocks look great."
My sister, Erin and myself headed up to Gloucester/Rockport yesterday to do some shooting. Unfortunately, the light didn't cooperate - hence the heavy work on the top photo, but as my friend Velvet said, "On one hand, it looks like it's had quite a bit of work done on it...but on the other hand, who cares? those clouds are WOW. it's not often you see a brown sky. the sky is stunning."
My thoughts exactly, who cares. I shot the image knowing it would need some work, but the image is not complete in the camera, it still needs to be developed in the digital darkroom.
Despite the freezing cold (the girls claimed they were down to 7-8 toes at the end), we did have some fun, and tried some lightpainting, though I wasn't happy with the images to post the results here or on my site. Anytime we can try something new or lightpaint some, I'm a happy camper (when else could I play with a 2 million candlepower spotlight).
Also, I'm knee deep in two new books, "Working the Light" and "Light Science & Magic" both of which I hope to get through this coming week.
