A lil' contest on inspiration
With the year winding down, I'm kinda searching for some new inspiration, be it a book, a blog, a Web site, magazine etc. I blogged about this earlier today somewhat and I thought I'd kinda sponsor a contest in search of that inspiration.
It's pretty simple really, in the comments to this post, leave me a link and/or suggestion about what inspires you. The contest will run through 1/1 and the best new inspiration, (don't send me "Joe McNally's the best!") will win a 8x12 print of your choice from my site.

Hi,
Here's one of my best sources of inspiration:
Alain Briot
Not only does he share his incredible photographs, he pens insightful essays about the philosophy of photography and art as well as articles on technique.
I wish you success in your quest for inspiration, you certainly have the creative energy taken care of. Happy Holidays!
For me, inspiration lies in human moods.....it colours nearly everything we see. I like the darker ones cause it's so very easy to go overboard with the tones and turn it into laconic. It's the tinge I try for...that's what adds the allure. For example, my current project is solitude...I live in Bombay. Insane city. Massively overpopulated. It's the little bits of privacy that I see people striving for that fascinates me....
I also like themes of colour. Precisely because they're so restrictive. Which is why it's fun to break them down in entirety. Red is just a name. As is black. Hope you get where I'm going...it's an incredibly wicked idea. Was the focus of my first exhibition...play with it. See how it feels, see if you can stop...
My $0.02...
This has nothing to do with photography, but I like it anyway...

It can really pay for us adults to listen to the lessons of children sometimes...
